PANJIM: The Panjim police arrested a 23-year-old man from Assam for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl from the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) Bus Terminus in the city.
According to the police, the mother of the 15-year-old girl lodged a complaint on January 17, stating that the accused kidnapped the victim from KTC Bus Terminus, Panjim, from her lawful guardianship on January 16. Following a complaint, the police formed a team and the victim was traced. The accused identified as Ghanashyam Boruah from Dhenukhana Gaon, Lakhimpur, Assam, has been arrested.
An FIR has been registered against Boruah under section 363 of IPC and under section 8 of Goa Children’s Act, 2003. PSI Sapna D Gawas is investigating the case under the guidance of Panjim PI Nikhil Palekar.
