VASCO: A 23-year-old man was arrested by the Dabolim Airport police for allegedly harassing a woman co-passenger on a flight from Delhi to Goa.
The accused has been identified as Jitender Jaglan Naultha from Panipat, Haryana.
Officials stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday between 11 am and 1.20 pm on board the Air India flight.
The victim who hails from Janakpuri, New Delhi in her complaint to the police alleged that the accused seated beside her pulled a blanket over himself while the flight was in the air and engaged in inappropriate behaviour. The FIR stated that he left the blanket open on her side while indulging in the act.
The woman also claimed in her police complaint that the man deliberately positioned the blanket in such a way that it shielded his vulgar actions from the view of others.
Shocked and appalled by the behaviour, the victim reported the matter to the cabin crew, leading to the arrest of the accused upon landing at the Dabolim International Airport.
A case has been registered against Jitender under Sections 75(1)(i) (sexual harassment) and 79 (acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the BNS 2023.
