A 32-year-old man from Indira Nagar, Chimbel-Merces, was arrested on charges of setting his wife ablaze at their residence on Monday night.
According to Old Goa police, Sundar Gaundar set his wife Shoba (26) ablaze by pouring kerosene on her. Shoba is believed to be in critical condition after receiving 50% burn injuries.
Police arrested the accused under Section 498A and 307 IPC and is investigating the case under the supervision of PSI Sadashiv Hunnashaktti.
