PANJIM: A major tragedy was averted late Tuesday night at the construction site of the third Mandovi bridge when a 80 tonne capacity crane crashed.
According to on-site workers there were no casualties reported due to the crash of the crane working in the middle of the river. The incident was reported at pole number 29 where the work is being carried out.
According to a passer-by, the piece of the crane came crashing down into the river waters while being lifted.
However, company rejected any reports of injuries and casualties.
