MARGAO: The Konkan Railway Corporation has attributed Sunday’s Mandovi Express derailment to human error.
Konkan Railway Corporation Chairman B P Tayal said that preliminary inquiry has revealed that the derailment of the Mandovi Express took place because of the human error. Taking serious note of the human error, Tayal said the concerned employee will be sent home if found guilty by the inquiry. “This is the first time that a derailment has taken place because of human error. This cannot be accepted since it involves the safety and security of passengers”, he said, while promising action against the field employee.
Rail traffic on the Konkan Railway route was hit after the Mandovi Express derailed on Sunday noon near Khed.
