Mandrem potholed roads repaired with jet-patcher, washed off with rains

ARAMBOL:  Mandrem locals have to put up with bad condition roads despite being one of the most-visited tourist spots in the State. Arambol, Paliem, Mandrem and Morjim panchayat roads in Mandrem constituency are always riddled with potholes and the repairs done with jet-patcher a few weeks ago have been washed away with the recent showers.

“Taxpayers money is being wasted by repairing the potholes with jet-patchers.  The PWD Minister probably thinks that the jet-patcher is a magic wand which will repair the roads properly. It’s a mission commission for the politicians. These roads cannot be fixed until they are hot mixed,” said Hemansh Naik, a local motorist.

He also added that despite roads being dug up to lay water pipelines and power cables, the supply of water as well as electricity has been absolutely disappointing and erratic too.

“It’s been around 10 years since the roads were hot mixed in Paliem. The government promises to develop and maintain the public properties only when election approaches,” said another local.
