Pernem: The Mandrem panchayat issued a show cause notice directing the owners demolish illegal structures constructed at survey number 211/2 in Ashvem within 15 days. The cottages and a restaurant, are built in the land which is allegedly owned by Arun Bhalla, Rohit Kher and Anil Sharma. The trio has apparently bought the land including the Ajoba temple which is in the premises.
The respective land in the vicinity of Ajoba temple at Ashvem-Mandrem was sold by the original owner to Satyam Thakral allegedly on the basis of wrong information. Thakral later sold the land to the trio but left 1500 sq meters for the temple.
Thakral visited the Mandrem panchayat and informed them that he had already sold the land and was in no way connected with the illegalities.
The panchayat had also issued notice to the three owners two months back to demolish the structures to which they had responded in writing that they would be demolishing the structures on their own.
