PERNEM: The Mandrem Village Panchayat has issued a show cause notice to Satyam Thakrar for his alleged illegal construction in the No Development Zone (NDZ).
The panchayat in its notice has asked as why the authorities should not demolish the illegal construction in Survey No 211/2-A at Ashwem Mandrem for violating the No Objection Certificate (NOC) norms.
The panchayat charged that Thakrar carried out temporary construction along with a swimming pool using sand, cement, steel, laterite stones, wood etc.
The civic body had earlier revoked permissions in November and then on December 5, issued a stop work order as illegalities were reported at the site.
On Thursday, the panchayat body at its fortnightly meeting resolved to issue a show cause notice to Thakrar asking him as to why the alleged temporary construction should not be treated as illegal and be demolished.
The violator has been given seven days to reply to the notice failing which necessary action would be contemplated under Sub-Section 66 of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act 1994.
This alleged illegal construction is carried out in the No Development Zone and within 200 metres of High Tide Line (HTL) and the notice has issued under Section 66 of Sub-Section (3) of Goa Panchayat Raj Act 1994 (Goa Act No 14 of 1994)
