VASCO: Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida and Vasco BJP Mandal President Councillor Deepak Naik are optimistic that the area of Mangor Hill and the Khariwada are likely to be out of the containment zones soon.
Both said that the recoveries from these containment zones are more and many people in the tests conducted are being tested negative for COVID.
The troubled, exhausted and eager people from the containment zones of Vasco area may soon get the chance to breathe fresh air outside the containment zones, as there are high chances that these areas will be free from the containment zones on or before August 8.
Speaking to this daily, Vasco MLA Almeida informed that he had a meeting with Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant wherein there was a discussion and the analysis with regards to the containment zones from the Mangor Hill and Khariwada areas from Vasco.
During the recent COVID testing, many people from these containment zones are being tested negative for COVID. There are many recoveries too, therefore after it was learnt about this, the Chief Minister has assured me that on or before August 8 there might be the opening of the containment zones. We must not forget that there are many daily wage workers women and men who work in many places and for their survival and family support they will have to be allowed to go for their work,” Almeida said.
Later, when contacted Councillor Naik, he mentioned that there were four lots of swab testing done in clusters. Recently, the first lot of 100 people underwent a swab test for COVID from the containment zone, wherein all were tested negative for COVID. In another lot of 50 people again all tested negative for COVID. Again at the end of July, tests of 77 residents from the Mangor Hill containment zone was done from that 75 were tested negative for COVID and two were tested positive which were asymptomatic.
Naik also reconfirmed that Vasco MLA has been assured by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant that these containment zones will be opened shortly.
