PONDA: Manguesh Shankar Gaude was elected unopposed as sarpanch of Veling-Priol-Cuncoliem.
The post fell vacant following the resignation of the then sarpanch Pandurang Gaude.
Six of the 11 panchas were present for special meeting. Those present were Manguesh Gaude, Laxmikant Khedekar, Varsha Gaude, Ranajit Prabudesai, Sanajana Gaude and Rohini Naik.
Priol MLA and Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude congratulated the new sarpanch.
