Mangueshi priest gets conditional bail

PONDA: JMFC Shahir Isani on Thursday granted conditional bail to Mangueshi priest Dhanajay Bhave (51) who was arrested by Ponda Police in connection with two molestation cases registered against him by two victims from Mumbai and US in July.
It may be recalled that Bhave was absconding for month and had surrendered two days ago.  
After his interim bail pleas were rejected, he was arrested by Ponda Police and JMFC remanded him to two days custody. 
On Thursday, he was produced by Ponda police before the JMFC seeking his further custody however following arguments the JMFC granted him conditional bail. 
Giving details of the conditional bail, PI Harish Marcaikar said, “The conditions are that the applicant (Dhanjay Bhave) shall furnish a personal bond of Rs 30,000, and surety of like amount to the satisfaction of court. The applicant shall report to the IO as and when directed by the IO till the filing of the final crime report. He shall not leave the State without obtaining the prior court permission and shall place on record his detailed permanent address along with proof and local address and contact numbers.”
He further said, “The applicants shall not interfere either directly or indirectly with the victim or any of her family members in any manner whatsoever and shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the fact of this case so as to dissuade him /her from disclosing such facts to the court or to any police officer or any inquiry authority. The applicant shall not commit offence similar to the offence of which he is presently charged. He shall cooperate in the investigation in the case.”
