Many people join AAP during ‘Veej Andolan’ at Benaulim

PANJIM: A large number of people joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during the “Veej Andolan” at Bondo, Benaulim.

AAP ZP member Hanzel Fernandes explained how the AAP model of governance is impacting people and how people in Delhi are receiving uninterrupted power either free or at subsidised rates.

“In Goa too, people consuming upto 200 units will not receive any bill while those consuming 201 to 400 units per month will get 50 per cent rebate,” he said, adding that ‘this will be implemented within 48 hours of AAP coming to power’.

Roque Mascarenhas explained how the AAP government in Delhi helped taxi and rickshaw drivers by not only giving them free rations but also by depositing Rs 5,000 in their accounts.

“The AAP government in Delhi increased the pension amount of senior citizens during the pandemic while in Goa people have not received their dole for six months,” he claimed.

AAP’s Benaulim co-ordinator Capt Venzy Viegas criticised local MLA Churchill Alemao for indulging in ‘revenge’ politics, which he pointed out was ‘creating divisions amongst the people’.

“The same person has been the MLA for nearly 35 years and there has been no description absolutely except for infrastructure where he gets some incentive,” he alleged.

“It is only when AAP promised a mohalla clinic in Benaulim that Churchill after so many years set up a health clinic in the village,” he claimed.
