PANJIM: A Mapusa based lawyer Dyaneswar Kalangutkar was attacked by three unknown individuals, who rushed into his office with a syringe on Tuesday.
According to Police officials, Kalangutkar was in his office, when at around 9.20 am, three unknown persons entered and claimed that they had some legal work. They were asked to sit, but a little later one of the men entered the office and caught Kalangutkar while another of them with a syringe injected some liquid into his hips and arm and then all three fled.
Kalangutkar went down to the ground floor of the office building and narrated the incident to another lawyer who rushed him to Mapusa District hospital.
Mapusa police stated that the syringe, which had been lying on the floor has been recovered and been sent for analysis.
Police said the reason behind the attack is not known and have registered an offence under sections 452, 341, 324, and 328 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Police sources said that on September 24, three men with similar descriptions, and speaking in Hindi, had visited the house of the lawyer and inquired about him and his family.
