Mapusa kiosks burgled

MAPUSA: Thieves broke into four kiosks opposite Carvalho petrol pump and decamped with items and cash worth Rs 90,000.

According to Mapusa Police, the incident occurred on Thursday midnight where unknown persons broke into four kiosks including two general stores, a bar and restaurant and an aquarium shop by bending the iron sheets.

Police received information that thieves decamped with cash, cigarette packets, chocolates, two aquarium sets and liquor bottles worth Rs 90,000. Sources informed that unknown persons stole CCTV camera from the aquarium shop.

Meanwhile, other kiosks owners in the area expressing concern over rising crime cases in the Mapusa jurisdiction.

“These kiosks are made up of wood and iron sheets due to which every now then such incidents happen. We request the government to look into the matter and shift us to a secure location,” Chari, a key maker urged.
