The Mapusa Merchant Association handed over a memorandum to the
Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council, raising concerns about various
infrastructure challenges in the Mapusa Market. One of the major issues mentioned
in the memorandum is the terrible condition of roads within the market area.
Another crucial aspect mentioned in the memorandum is the lack of proper toilet
facilities in the market vicinity. The memorandum also brings attention to
inadequate lighting in the market, particularly during evening hours. The
merchants also highlighted the absence of a designated fire vehicle access
route in the event of an emergency. Other issues pertaining to the market’s
infrastructure and amenities were also addressed in the memorandum.
