MAPUSA: In a letter to the Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) chairperson, Mapusa Merchants’ Association has requested the civic body to impress upon the government to allow them to reopen their businesses in the municipal market from June 1.
Association president Ashish Shirodkar said the COVID situation is slowly improving in the State but will take long to normalise.
Shirodkar said that the current curfew (partial lockdown) has only helped the online retailers and MNC companies while small businesses and local traders are facing an uncertain future due to government restrictions.
