MAPUSA: Mapusa police on Saturday arrested one Vishal Narsingh Sherkhane (51) native of Kolhapur, Maharashtra and one Vikas Vinayak Kesarkar (32) native of Belguam, Karnataka for allegedly stealing goods and cash from a general store at Guirim.
According to Mapusa Police, Sunila Laksman Lamani (22) resident of Madel, Thivim running a store at Guirim filed a police complaint that on night between July 8 and 9, unknown persons broke opened lock of Taramati General Store located at Arradi and decamped with 25 packets of cigarette, 10 packets of chocolates make, 8 bottles of hand sanitizer, 6 bottles of hair oil, 128 packets of shampoo, 10 cold drink bottle, 12 pieces of shaving blades, 12 pieces of 100 pages note books and 12 pieces of 200 pages note books and Rs 22,000. All worth Rs 40,000.
Mapusa police registered an offence under section 457, 380 IPC and intercepted a white colour Maruti Alto car bearing No. MH-09-AB-5845 at Cuchelim and apprehended the accused persons.
During their personal search, police recovered stolen goods. Alleged accused admitted their involvement in the crime during interrogation.
Accused persons were produced before the JMFC Court Mapusa and are remanded for 2 days police custody.
