Mapusa Police made a significant breakthrough by apprehending four individuals involved in the fabrication of fake PAN cards and Aadhaar cards, which were subsequently used for fraudulent transactions at TJSB Bank, Mapusa.
The action followed a complaint lodged by Mukund Sakharam Raut of Sal, Bicholim, Goa, who reported the fraudulent use of his identity for monetary transactions at the bank on Monday, February 12th.
In response, Mapusa Police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and formed teams to apprehend the culprits. Utilizing both human and technical resources, the police swiftly identified and intercepted the accused.
The arrested individuals were identified as Razak Dilawar Belwadi (26) from Porvorim, Gautam Uttam Korgaonkar (38) from Anjuna, Devanand Prabhakar Kavlekar (43) from Pilerne, Porvorim, and Rahul Ramdas Padloskar (38) from Boacadavaca, Panjim. Following their arrest, fake PAN cards and Aadhaar cards were confiscated.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Sandesh Chodankar, Police Inspector Shitakant Nayak, and Superintendent of Police North, Mr. Akshat Kaushal. Further details will be revealed as the investigation progresses.
