MAPUSA: A special celebration was organised by the Mapusa Sub-Division of the Goa Police for senior citizens living in Mapusa as part of the initiative to mark 75 years of India’s independence and to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of its people.
Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Nilkanth Halankar along with DGP Jaspal Singh, IGP Omvir Singh, Superintendent of Police, North Goa, Shobhit Saksena, SDPO Mapusa Jivba Davi and others attended the event.
A health camp and several entertainment programmes were organised for the senior citizens. Special greeting cards and the Indian National Flag was distributed to all the senior citizens present, for them to hoist at their respective homes. SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi said that it was very satisfying to see so many senior citizens gracing the event and thanked all of them for making the event a success.
