MAPUSA: Mapusa Municipal Council has decided to propose three projects under the special allocation of Rs 20 crore funds, on Wednesday.
The decision was taken at the general council meeting held on Wednesday. The proposed projects are: redevelopment of Alankar theater, development of office and commercial complex behind municipal building and development of residential plus commercial complex near Kamat Gardens at Dattawadi.
The council said that these projects would help generate revenue for the municipality.
The council also approved a proposal under which waste water from toilets which normally flows into drains will be treated and recycled.
The council also decided to ban all types of decoration in Gandhi Chawk and Hutatma Chawk during any festive such as carnival and shigmotsav. Basic illumination during Republic Day or any other such day will be considered.
