27-year-old Tahir Khan from Mapusa, whose vehicle while being driven by a minor resulted in a fatal accident at Chicalim, has been arrested & booked under Section 304IPC, 180, and 199-A (2) of the Motor Vehicle Act. 40-year-old Reena Gonsalves lost her life in a fatal accident on Friday while she was on her way back home with her nephew. The accident occurred when the vehicle driver, a minor came from the wrong side and dragged the rider and the pillion rider to a few metres before colliding against the roadside Cross.
The Vasco police on Saturday wrote to the Mapusa RTO asking them to cancel registration for one year of the vehicle involved in an accident at Chicalim and not to issue a driving licence to the minor driver till he attained the age of 25 years. The police also added section 304 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of IPC to the case registered against the minor driver on Friday.
