MAPUSA: The Mapusa police arrested Shrikant Gurunath Pattan (33), a native of Hubli-Karnataka, for allegedly committing theft at the Shree Vithal Rukmani Temple at Ansabhat.
It may be recalled that the temple priest Sunil Nayak on Thursday filed a complaint with the Mapusa police that some unknown persons entered into the premises and stole a mobile handset, a silver Shivlinga weighing 30 grams and a pen drive.
Acting on the complaint, police verified the CCTV footage, nabbed the accused and recovered the stolen property.
Further investigation is in progress.
