Mapusa traders pay tributes to Parrikar

MAPUSA: The Mapusa Merchants Association (MMA) as well people from the various walks of life paid homage to former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar at a condolence meet held in the municipal market area, on Wednesday. 
A two-minute silence was also observed on the occasion and floral tributes sere paid to the portrait of Parrikar.
Among those who attended the condolence meet included merchants, vendors, councillors and BJP karyakatas.
Mapusa Merchants Association President Ashish Shirodkar spoke about how he worked with Parrikar since early 90’s and learnt a lot from him.
“When we approached him with the issued related to the Mapusa market he assured to help us with the same. He said he would do the needful and sanctioned Rs 20 crore for developmental works to be carried out in the Municipal market,” Shirodkar said.
While the son of ex-Mapusa MLA, Francis D’Souza and MMC councillor Joshua D’Souza spoke of the time he first met Parrikar.
