PONDA: Youth from Marcaim recently rescued a Verna resident from drowning in the Zuari River.
Fifty-three-year-old Suresh Pandit, a Verna resident, had visited the Zuari River to spend some time. However, Suresh accidentally fell into the river and the strong currents started dragging him towards Marcaim.

A group of youth on the Marcaim side of the river noticed Suresh struggling. The youth immediately arranged a canoe and rescued Suresh, who fell unconscious. The youth took him in the canoe and later shifted him to the Marcaim Hospital. However, Suresh was later admitted to GMC where he regained consciousness.
