VASCO: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho on Thursday laid the foundation stone new parking space project and said the multilevel car parking at the Dabolim Airport will be operational within next two months.
The joggers park in Chicalim was also reopened by the minister.

Speaking to the media persons, Godinho said, “This parking space facility will be ready by November this year. The facility will be able to accommodate 15 buses, 200 four-wheelers and 180 two-wheelers.
Whether the parking facility will get affected by the doubling of railway track, Godinho said the Airport authority will come up with the project on their land as they have got the approval for the work and have spared sufficient space from the track.
“Plans to get additional land near the other grade separator are on to solve the haphazard parking issue as there will be sufficient, dedicated parking space at the airport,” he added.
Meanwhile, Godinho in presence of Chicalim sarpanch Sebestiao Pereira and other panchas reopened the joggers’ park at Chicalim which was closed for the public due to the pandemic.
The locals had demanded that joggers park be reopened.
The minister said the second phase work of the park will start soon.
