PONDA: The Marcel panchayat, on Friday, will hold a joint inspection of a papad and masala manufacturing unit operating in the premises of a cooperative housing society at Madapai.
Last month, the residents of Shree Sankhlyo Krupa Housing Maintenance Co-operative Society complained to the panchayat about alleged noise and air pollution caused by M/S Star Agro Products. The panchayat inspected the site on October 23, following which it sent a stop notice to the unit and decided to conduct a joint site inspection on November 6 at 10.30 am with the owner of the unit, the Goa State Pollution Control Board, health officers, industrial inspectors, the Food and Drug Administration and Kundaim fire officials.
