MARGAO: On the occasion of 90th birthday of Gurunath Kelekar, a delegation of MARG, an organisation that was started by him, visited the nonagenarian who expressed anguish over the increasing number of fatal accidents in the State.
A known Konkani protagonist, Kelekar founded Movement for Amity towards Roads in Goa (MARG), an organisation that dedicated itself to educating people about road discipline and sense and brought about quite a change in usage of roads by motorists.
On his 90th birthday MARG President Prashant Naik, Vice President Auda Viegas, Executive Trustee and Member Secretary Anant Agni met Kelekar at his residence.
Expressing his anguish over the increasing fatal accidents in the State, Kelekar said that MARG will have to revisit the masses with MARG Panchsheel. The group also discussed ways for strengthening the civic movement in the State where in students of high schools are trained in citizenship.
