MARGAO: The plinth of a building near the Margao pickup stand was exposed during excavation work for a foundation pit at an adjacent construction site, causing fear amongst the locals.
Around 20 people, mostly pickup operators met the Chief Officer of the Margao Municipal Council on Thursday. They told the CO that the excavation had spread fear and anxiety in the minds of the local businessmen and residents, and has put the building and the lives of people at risk. Incidentally, the foundation pit is around 4 metres deep.
