MARGAO: The newly appointed Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Rohit Kadam has decided to crack whip on all the agents interfering into the matters of the civic body, in order to bring transparency into the functioning. He has issued a notice to every section of the municipality not to entertain any agent or action will be initiated.
He has also made his stand clear that recovery of the pending dues, which is more than Rs 20 crore is his priority, and he wants to focus on data compliance for speedy process. CO said that there are no skilled and efficient staffs in the Margao Municipality.
On Friday the Chief Officer made a point to clear his stand when one of the councillors, Sadanand Naik, raised strong objections against one of the supervisors taking charge on the desk of the clerk.
CO said he needs to focus on releasing the payment of staff, and for which recovery is the required.
“When asked it was informed to me that there is no proper data and hence the same supervisor was instructed to take the position and do the data compliance pertaining to recovery. The concerned staff will not engage in having talks with any applicant,” he assured.
He also said that he is aware about the allegations against the said staff.
CO further stated that there are no skilled and efficient staffs in the Margao Municipality, and that is the problem in this municipality. “So we will train them,” he said.
Kadam said that he has already circulated the notice to every section of the civic body, wherein it has been clearly instructed not to entertain any of the agents in the Municipality.
“Only concerned applicants or the family members or person having power of attorney will be entertained while dealing with any of the file or correspondence,” said Chief Officer.
