MARGAO: After last minute cancellation of Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer Rohit Kadam’s meeting called to hear the public suggestions on various issues regarding Margao, several locals and even a few councillors lent their support to Chief Officer so that people can put forth their grievances openly.
Few councillors, however, have raised the question on the need for a meeting to hear public grievances when public are free to suggest at any point of time. Section of councillors also suspected ‘political interference in selecting the volunteers’ for the meeting.
Speaking to Herald, Councillor Camilo Baretto alleged that the selection of the two volunteers from his ward were without his consent.
