MARGAO: The Crime Branch on Monday filed a long charge sheet against the six accused in the Margao jeweller Swapnil Walke murder case at the Civil and Criminal Court, here.
The Crime Branch investigation officer of the case Police Inspector Chetan Patil and his team filed a long 1,200 pages charge sheet against the six accused in the Margao jeweller murder case of September. There are approximately 115 witnesses in the case.
The three Goan Evander Rodrigues, Mustafa Shaikh and Omkar Patil are accused for murder, robbery by using deadly weapons, illegal possession of arms and also for the destruction of evidence. Other three accused, who were arrested from Begusarai, Bihar namely Shani Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Kundan Kumar are booked under the Arms Act for illegal supply of arms.
Jeweller Walke was shot at and stabbed to death by a group of three robbers in broad daylight on September 2. The incident shook the Madgaonkars and had evoked anger amongst the people. The accused are in judicial custody lodged at Colvale jail.
