MARGAO: The roof of the Margao KTC bus stand shed has started leaking in the rains.

This leakage of the roof has been a perennial problem for the last several years. The irked passengers  have demanded immediate repair work of the shed.  The concerned contractor managed to carry out the temporary repair works on Friday, giving relief to the passengers.

Girish Gaude, Depot Manager-Margao assured that the remaining repair works of the shed will commence very soon.

Reportedly that in the month of May this year, the new Chairman of the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) Ulhas Tuenkar had promised to review the proposed renovation of the Margao KTC bus stand on top priorities. He had even said that the Corporation is in need of urgent financial and infrastructure support.

Speaking to Herald, Rupali Naik, who travels to Panjim from Margao on a regular basis said, “The service of the KTC is being used by hundreds of commuters and hence it is a duty of the government to provide facilities over here.”

Gaude said, “The repair works were supposed to start on Friday, but due to rains the contractor would do only minor works and was unable to go ahead with the remaining works.”
