MARGAO: Most establishments in Margao remained shutdown with the exception to those permitted to operate, traffic on the streets of Margao was regular and it did not look like there was a lockdown in effect.
Most of the bars and restaurants remained closed except for some established ones. Many of the bar and restaurant had the entrance barricaded and would only give take away. Wholesale wine shops however were open though some owners as a measure of abundant caution did not open their shops.

All establishments that serve tea and snacks were closed. Couple of restaurants at KTC bus stand and near Carmelite Monastery gave out parcels but did not allow the customers to enter the premises to consume anything.
Most of the medical stores and general provision stores were open. The SGPDA market was open with the fish and meat vendors carrying out business as usual though there were fewer fish vendors in the market today.
The retail shops were all open and so were the fruit and vegetable vendors though the local vendors were fewer in number.
At the new market most of the shops were closed while at the Gandhi market all the shops were shut and the only ones doing business were the fruit and vegetable vendors.
Police were seen patrolling Margao continuously and in fact was stationed at places which generally attract crowds like the old railway gate junction or behind the Margao Municipal council building.
