MARGAO: Margao Town Police have seized alcohol worth around Rs 30,000 in six different seizures made prior to the Lok Sabha elections on April 23.
In all 125 litres of alcohol including 30 litres of urrack were seized by the police with most of the seized alcohol being IMFL primarily whiskey or rum. After the code of conduct came into force, the police and excise departments cracked down on illegal sale of sale in the State to ensure free and fair elections.
