MARGAO: An impressive crowd marched silently around the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) garden on Sunday during a rally to express their solidarity with the eight-year-old Asifa Bano, who was brutally gang raped and murdered in Kathua, Kashmir and demanded that not only the investigations but even the case trial should be on a fast track.
The crowd holding candles marched along the pavement by the side of the garden and stopped at a few places where some of them addressed the gathering and especially composed songs were sung.
The crowd signed a petition demanding speedy investigation and trial into the matter and condemned the government’s apathy and attempts to politicise and communalise the heinous crime. Report on Pg 5>>
