MARGAO: Despite the government making all RTO forms available online for free, some enterprising people, having their shops near the RTO office at Osia Commercial Arcade, Margao, are alleged to be making a quick buck.
Since the government has uploaded the forms on the website for free, the RTO has stopped selling them. The department has put up a note stating that the forms are available on www.goatransport.gov.in.
However, despite this, people visit the office and demand forms. Even when told that they can be downloaded from the website for free, they go looking out for places where the forms are available with some RTO staff telling them where they can be obtained.
There is an office on the first floor just below the RTO office where the forms are allegedly being sold for Rs 30 while another shop on the ground floor allegedly sells them for Rs 5 and people are seen purchasing these forms.
