MARGAO: Traffic Cell, Margao streamlined the smooth flow of vehicles during the school’s starting and endinghours on Tuesday, taking serious note of the roads along schools chock-a-block with chaos and undisciplined parking.
PI Gautam Salunke, Traffic Cell, Margao along with other staff was noticed on the ground to regulate the traffic flow, near the educational institutions. Even fast-food kiosks, which were found stationed on the old bus stand, were moved, and the space was allotted for the parking of vehicles.

Along with traffic police few parents volunteered to streamline the traffic flow.
All the gaddas were asked to move from the bus stand and the area was used by the parents to park their vehicles. The traffic cell also managed to provide barricades to the schools, upon the request of the management and few parents.
Speaking to the Herald, Gautam Salunke, Police Inspector, Traffic Cell, Margao said that entire staff was on the ground on Tuesday in order to put the system in place.
“Upon the orders, we were able to move all the gaddas from the old bus stand in the school hours, which helped to utilise the space for parking. We had deployed traffic personnel at every school in the town, mostly at the police station,” said Salunke.
He also appealed to the parents and educational institutes to initiate voluntary help in order to have smooth flow of traffic during the school hours.
