MARGAO: Mad rush was witnessed at the Urban Health Centre, Margao on Saturday to take vaccine jabs. Besides, above 45 years of age, 110 persons in the 18-45 age group took the vaccine.
Health Officer of Urban Health Centre Dr Anju Kharangate has claimed that everything went on smoothly and they are not facing any infrastructure problems at the moment.
In the morning hours, it was witnessed that there was a long queue outside the UHC. Most of the people waiting to take the vaccine were in the 18-45 age groups. Police presence was also seen at the centre.
The vaccine Covishield is currently administered free of cost across the State through 35 government centres. The State government has received 32,870 doses of the Covishield vaccine from the Serum Institute of India.
Speaking to the Herald, UHC Health Officer Dr Anju said that 110 persons in the age group of 18-45 have received the vaccine jabs at Margao centre.
“We had no problem in managing the same. At the moment there are not many problems pertaining to infrastructure. Besides, our counter of giving the vaccine to people above 45 age was also running smoothly,” she stated.
