Margao’s pot-holed roads, cause of accidents

MARGAO: Margao’s pot-holed roads are causing accidents almost every day. An accident on Saturday on the Powerhouse Circle to Rawanfond Circle road and another on the Navelim-Colmorod Road on Monday have irked the residents in these areas.
Colmorod and Navelim locals claim that not a single day passes without an incident on the stretch from Navelim Church to KRC Station in Margao. A source said an oncoming vehicle hit a two-wheeler while the rider was attempting to steer away from the large potholes.
The locals say that the accident is due to bad roads. One of the two-wheeler riders, Ganapati Kadekar from Davorlim, is in serious condition and has been shifted to GMC for further treatment.
In yet another incident that made rounds on social media on Saturday, a person who was riding a scooter met with a self accident, again due to the bad road between Powerhouse Circle and Rawanfond Circle.
The rider has injured both his feet and hands after he fell in a pothole. The people from Margao and South Goa have demanded that the road contractors and authorities be made to pay compensation to the victims for the bad roads and consequential accidents.
The potholes in Margao may have not resulted in accidents but are resulting in constant traffic jams all day.
