Marle registers 83.12% voter turnout

CANACONA: It may sound strange but this time Marle Ward in the Poinguinim Constituency, which boycotted the last Assembly elections, registered a whopping 83.12 per cent voter turnout compared to the 50 other Zilla Parishad polling stations in the Canacona Taluka.

It may be recalled that the Ward had boycotted the last Assembly elections over problems related to non-existent of tarred road, mobile connectivity, water supply and electricity.

A senior citizen and head of the clan informed that they are now confident that the asphalting of the three kms approach road to the Ward will be taken up.

Poinguinim registered 50.35 per cent voter turnout while Khola registered 62.49 per cent.
