CANACONA: Cajie D’ Souza, a resident of Mashem, Canacona along with his family rescued a sea turtle, which had got stranded in the shallow waters under the Mashem Bridge of the Parrikar sea-side NH66 road on Wednesday.
Cajie said he spotted the Olive Ridley turtle struggling in the shallow rocky waters at the confluence of Mashem and Galgibaga River.
“As the turtle was aimlessly coming to the rocky area, my family and I thought it wise to rescue it by taking it back to the deeper portion of the river and in the direction of the mouth of the river, the turtle was lucky that we were there, otherwise it may have died due to exhaustion,” said D’ Souza.
