Massive land landfilling was seen in Chimbel village in survey no. 57/1 in ward number 5 which is known as Shirent near the Chimbel crematorium area. The total land area that is destroyed is around 45,000 Sq.mtrs appx. It was observed that this ongoing work is being done without any permission or NOC from applicable authorities.
After the locals complained the flying Squad along with the police team, TCP officials and a surveyor visited the site & stopped the ongoing works around 4.30 pm Monday. The police also seized the truck & JCB machinery that was operating at the site. Chimbel Sarpanch who was present at the site made it clear that the Panchayat had not issued any NOC for this work. Contractor Yogesh Chopdekar who was present at the site failed to produce any NOC copies.
