Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has declared that massive land grabbing which happened could have been avoided if timely action had been taken. He said the complaints were filed at police stations but were treated as routine complaints and kept. Why did we have to set up an SIT for land grabbing? If higher officers had directed their subordinates to take action, 99% of people’s problems could have been solved, Sawant stated.
He also stated that up to nine officers from various government departments have been suspended during my tenure as chief minister. At present 10 to 12 major vigilance complaints have been filed with the Vigilance Department and Anti-Corruption bureau, Chief Minster Pramod Sawant while speaking at the Rashtriya Ekta Din, the birth anniversary of India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
