Poriem: The massive sinkhole was formed on Guleli-Murmune road on Sunday evening thereby causing inconvenience to the villagers passing through this road. Fortunately, no one was hurt when this incident occurred.
Barricades have been placed on both the sides of the road and it has been temporarily closed for four wheelers while two wheelers are allowed to pass through this road cautiously.
Villagers of Murmune said that there is a river around and there was a heavy flow of water with the rains. “We don’t want stop gap arrangements but the issue should be solved once and for all by constructing a new road by keeping water outlet,” a villager said.
Another villager said that luckily at the time of incident no vehicle was passing through this road. “We request PWD officials to look into the matter as soon as possible on priority basis at the villages are connected through this road,” he said.
