PONDA: Mahalaxmi Yuvak Sang, Talaulim-Ponda will organise four days Special Matoli Bazaar at Wadi-Talaulim Village Panchayat area from September 5 to 8, to prevent rush at Ponda main market and as a preventive measure against COVID-19 pandemic, by following the government guidelines.
Speaking to the media persons, Sudesh Bhingi said, “Our member Rohan Naik put up the proposal of arranging Matoli Bazaar in the panchayat area. We are organising four days Matoli Bazaar where all the items such as sweets, vegetables, fruits, matoli items as well as goods produced by the local self-help groups will be given a place for selling them at the premises located near Mahalaxmi Yuvak Sang building.”
Bhingi said, “Wadi-Talaulim is the centre for at least three village panchayats namely Borim, Durbhat Agapur and Kavlem. The aim is not only to reduce crowd in Ponda market but also to provide support to the vendors whose businesses are hit by COVID-19 pandemic.”
