Mauvin told Herald, “I have already made my stand clear that I will contest the forthcoming assembly election on BJP ticket from Dabolim constituency. Therefore, I will resign from Congress and join the BJP on December 16.”
According to Godinho, he would tender his resignation at the Congress House on December 16, at around 10 am, and would thereafter be inducted in BJP at around 4.30 pm.
Source close to Mauvin informed that the Dabolim BJP workers have decided to take out a grand rally in view of induction of Mauvin into BJP on December 16. The rally will be taken out from St Jacinto Island to Vaddem, covering Chicalim, Dabolim, Alto-Dabolim, Bogmalo and New-Vaddem.
Meanwhile, on the sacking of Ramakrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar and Deepak Dhavalikar from the Cabinet, Mauvin said that the MGP leaders failed to abide by coalition principles by making allegations against the BJP leaders in general and Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, in particular.
