MARGAO: Yet another deadline of May 2023 has been set to resolve much debated waste treatment issue at Sonsodo. Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Rohit Kadam said the multi-level parking project too will see the light of the day very soon.
He was speaking at a function organised by the South Goa Journalists Association on Monday observe the death anniversary of Bal Gangadhar Tilak at Margao. He also appealed the media fraternity to highlight the good things done at the administrative level. He said that the MMC is trying hard to resolve the Sonsoddo issue at the earliest, and the problem will be solved by next May.
“The civic body, with the support of government agencies and concerned MLAs, will put all efforts to resolve the Sonsoddo issue,” he stated.
The Chief Officer said the tender will be floated for the much needed multi-level car parking project in Margao by the GSUDA. MMC is also working very closely with the GSUDA.
“The proposals for two Futsal grounds, one at Fatorda and Margao have gone for administrative approval,” he said.
He was of the opinion that of late, lots of negative news is being published in the media, but at the same time the journalist should need to highlight the positive side of the good things done at the government administrative level. “It is the responsibility of the journalist too, to work towards the betterment of the society,” he said.
