MAYEM: Surla gram sabha on Sunday unanimously resolved to boycott all future elections if farmers who have suffered due to mining silt in the area are not given a financial package.
A villager, Bhanudas Naik, brought to the notice of Sarpanch Sanjay Surlakar that the State government failed to provide financial package to the farmers who were affected due to filling of mining silt in their farms.
Another villager, Uday Natekar, said that it has become difficult to divert water into the farms, as heaps of mining silt have been deposited into the farms. He stressed the need to provide instant financial package to the farmers in the same manner provided to the truck owners and mining dependents.
Ramakant Suralkar said there is a need to undertake precautionary measures to stop dust pollution which has been caused due to a cement factory in the village.
Vipal Shirdokar demanded to increase honorarium of a youth working in gymkhana for better functioning, while Vishnu Valvoikar demanded to handle the issue of stray cattle.
Earlier, Secretary Pradnyanand Naik Borkar read the annual report, while Shilpa Pilarnkar was the observer.
