CANACONA: As a part of its taluka-wise agitation to protest the diversion of Mhadei river water by Karnataka, Mhadei Bachao Andolan (MBA) held a meeting in Chaudi, Canacona on Friday, which received an impressive participation of residents.
Vikas Bhagat questioned why Goans have to come out on the road to fight for the issues dear to them.
MBA leader Sandesh Teleikar said that they are ready to lay down their lives to save Mhadei River from getting diverted.
Activist Arvind Bhatikar made it clear that they will fight against the wrong decision taken by the government of Goa, terming them as incompetent and inefficient.
Prashant Naik, questioned the student community for not showing any interest in genuine causes like the Mhadei issue, which will destroy North Goa.
Elvis Gomes, Snehalata Bhatikar, Subash Velingkar, Babu Komarpant and
Govind Dev also spoke at the function.
