PANJIM: The Panjim police have arrested a top official of a private firm from the city over sexual harassment allegations of a woman employee.
The Panjim police arrested Jaykrishna Shetty, 65, a managing director (MD) of a private firm on the basis of alleged sexual harassment charges levelled against him by a woman employee at the work place.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that Shetty made physical contact and advances and also indulged in unwelcoming and explicit sexual overtures toward her.
When resisted, the woman alleged that the accused threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incidents to anyone.
The police have arrested the accused and are investigating the matter.
